"Nash's Art Featured at the Prison Art Gallery, Washington, D.C."

A new and unique gallery opened in Washington DC in 2007 featuring artwork that is very exhilarating and different. Found by Dennis Sobin and Carolyn Cosmos, the Prison Art Gallery is located at 1600 K Street NW, Suite 501, Washington, DC 20036. Over 1,000 artworks by imprisoned artists, all on display and for sale.

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts each year on Labor Day weekend hosts the Page-To-Stage Festival, of which our From-Prison-to-the-Stage Show has been a part and features a wide variety of outstanding ex-prisoner performing artists.

"Bobby Nash is a mainstay of the Prison Art Gallery in Washington, D.C. We are proud to feature his work in our gallery and on our web site, www.prisonsfoundationl.org."    Dennis Sobin, ex-prisoner and curator of Prison Art Gallery, Washington, D.C.

The Tennessee Art League was organized in 1954 as a nonprofit organization in the State of Tennessee. The primary mission of the TAL is to assist local visual artists by providing gallery space, workshops, and educational programs. In addition, the League endeavors to enrich the community by providing professional artist materials to schools, teaching art in community centers, senior centers and homeless shelters.

For the Community

Providing educational opportunities and outreach to the community has always been an important part of the mission of TAL.

Some of our programs include: Partnering with Metro Nashville schools to provide professional artists teaching "At-Risk"
 youth in underserved schools.

The TAL donates professional artist materials and donates two months of our galleries to a Metro Schools Art Exhibition.

Dedicated to multidisciplinary exploration of contemporary art media.

A1LabArts has an uber-cool exhibition space and gallery in the Fireproof Storage building at 201 Randolph Street in Knoxville's Old City. You'd think you were in Amsterdam or in the NYC village.
